Summer arrived early this year and things are drying out.  Please be aware of the extreme fire danger we are and will be facing as summer progresses.  We had record low levels of precipitation in April and May and June is shaping up to be the same.

Also, as we approach summer we all begin planning those vacations.  Things that you should keep in mind while traveling are:  Have someone watch over your home – perhaps changing lighting patterns.  Also, if you are traveling with personal possessions, be aware of how and what your homeowner policy might cover in the event of a theft or some such thing.

If you will be renting an auto while on vacation, be sure you understand how your personal auto policy would respond in the event there was damage to the rented vehicle.  There are items such as diminution of value and loss of use that would not be covered should you damage a rented vehicle.  Check with your credit card companies to see how they might respond to those type losses.  If nothing else, consider purchasing the collision damage waiver.  If you are traveling overseas, your personal auto policy DOES NOT respond to claims – as those type claims are outside the coverage territory of the U.S., it’s territories, or Canada.

If you have boats, water toys, dirt bikes, quads, etc. please be sure to contact your agent to discusse the ramifications of insurance.

Most importantly, be safe and enjoy the Blue Skies of Summer.
