THINK RAIN, WIND, AND SNOW

Winter is really upon us.  Be sure that your home is prepared for the wintery blasts that will soon be arriving.  Check your gutters to be sure they are clean and can handle the upcoming rains.  Take a look at the trees around your house to be sure they are healthy and do not pose a threat to your home.

If you have a woodburning stove, be sure that the chimney is in good working order and that it has been cleaned.  Be sure when removing ashes that you use a metal bucket and take the ashes to your burn pile to dispose of them.

If you are leaving for an extended period of time this winter, please be sure to leave heat on in your home to prevent frozen pipes.  Better yet, turn off the water.

One last thing when preparing your home for winter, or any season for that matter, be sure your smoke detectors are in working order.

When talking winter, when driving in wintery conditions, be sure to carry candles, chains, flashlight, an extra blanket or two in case of blizzard conditions or road closures.  Also, keep your gas tank on the full side of the guage rather than running on the empty side.

Simply put – “BE WINTERWIZE”
